The Still Shakers sound is an energetic mixture of fast bluegrass and traditional country. We’ll get you up on your feet, dancing and singing along to your new and old favorites.
While the band was formed in 2015, the members are no strangers to performing. The creation of The Still Shakers was a result of combing remnants of two successful groups: Carolina Still and Redhorse Black. In the years spent in the previous line-ups, the members have toured all over the US from Vermont to Montana, including appearances on Nashville’s lower Broadway.
The beginning of 2017 has seen a new phase for The Still Shakers. We have added a one-mic setup show that allows us to fit perfect into smaller venues such as restaurants, taprooms and other more intimate settings. The full setup has not gone away however! We can and still will blow the faces off crowds of 20 to thousands!
Adam Jones
Upright Bass / Vocals / Managment
Adam’s background in percussion has enabled him to develop a unique playing style that adds thunderous bass to The Still Shakers. Adam has played in numerous different groups and spent 4 years in Carolina Still before founding The Still Shakers. Some of his favorite groups/influences are Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Old Crow Medicine Show, Pokey LaFarge and Rival Sons.
Robert Norman
Lead Vocals / Fiddle / Harmonica / Kazoo
Robert’s on stage charisma and old time fiddle style center up The Still Shakers. Robert has developed his fiddle style by playing with many old time style groups around Eastern NC. As a founding member of Carolina Still, he spent many years perfecting his sound before moving on to co-found The Still Shakers. His love of music is easily seen every time he hits the stage.
Jason Bullard
Acoustic Guitar / Vocals
Jason is a very disciplined player and it shows in his technique. His lead patterns and understanding of chord foundations add another wow factor to The Still Shakers. Jason also spent many years playing in Redhorse Black before coming to The Still Shakers.
William Smith
Drums / Vocals / Recorder
As a member of Redhorse Black and former member of Carolina Still, Billy is the common denominator that helped bring the members of The Still Shakers together. Billy’s years of playing different styles has formed his stamina to keep up the fast paced groove of The Still Shakers.
David Hayes
Banjo
Although Dave hasn’t been playing banjo his whole life, you wouldn’t know by listening to him. His dedication to his craft and years spent with the band Redhorse Black have fine tuned Dave’s sound. Dave combines the disciple of the old style with find new and innovative patterns.
